Catan Tournament Rules
Terms and Conditions for Participation in the Competition
- Only 60 competitors will be accepted for registration.
- Applicants must be current students enrolled at Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University.
Rules and Guidelines
The competition consists of 3 Stages.
STAGE 1: Preliminary Round (60 players)
Conditions: Players will be randomly selected through a lottery system and organized into 15 teams, with teams consisting of 4 members.
Victory Point: the first player to reach (be at) 10 victory points (VPs) on their turn or has the highest score on each board within 1 hour, the game will immediately end. The winning team from each group will progress to the Semi-Final Round. (One winner for each Board Game)
Players acquire victory points (VPs) for the following:
• 1 Settlement = 1 VP
• 1 City = 2 VPs
• Longest Road special card = 2 VPs
• Largest Army special card = 2 VPs
• Victory point (VP) card = 1 VP
STAGE 2: Semi-Final Round (15 Players)
Conditions: Players will be randomly selected through a lottery system and organized into 5 teams, with teams consisting of 3 members.
Victory Point: the first player to reach (be at) 10 victory points (VPs) on their turn wins the game. The winning team from each group will progress to the Final Round. (One winner for each Board Game)
Players acquire victory points (VPs) for the following:
• 1 Settlement = 1 VP
• 1 City = 2 VPs
• Longest Road special card = 2 VPs
• Largest Army special card = 2 VPs
• Victory point (VP) card = 1 VP
STAGE 3: Final Round (5 players)
Conditions: The Final Round of the competition will consist of five players.
Victory Point: the first player to reach (be at) 10 victory points (VPs) on their turn wins the game.
Players acquire victory points (VPs) for the following:
• 1 Settlement = 1 VP
• 1 City = 2 VPs
• Longest Road special card = 2 VPs
• Largest Army special card = 2 VPs
• Victory point (VP) card = 1 VP
Winner Determination:
The player with the highest score shall be declared the winner. Second and third places, as well as honorable mentions. If the victory points of the players are equal, the committee will consider secondary variables, such as the Longest Road or the Largest Army.
Reward Prizes
- Winner : 5,000 THB + certificate
- First runner-up : 3,000 THB + certificate
- Second runner-up : 2,000 THB + certificate
- Honorable Mention : 2 awards, 1,000 THB each + certificates
Reward prize
- Winner : 5,000 THB + certificate
- First runner-up : 3,000 THB + certificate
- Second runner-up : 2,000 THB + certificate
- Honorable Mention : 2 awards, 1,000 THB each + certificates
